Sky Special School is more than an institution—it’s a family, held together by the compassion, strength, and tireless dedication of the people who make it possible.
At the heart of Sky Special School are the volunteers, caregivers, and faculty, many of whom are parents or close relatives of special children themselves. Their personal connection to the mission infuses our school with love, empathy, and deep understanding. These individuals don’t just work here—they live the values of Sky Special School every day, nurturing each child with patience and pride.
We are also supported by the Light Brundas Women’s Group, a vibrant collective of women—many of them mothers of Sky Special School students—who have come together through yoga, meditation, and shared purpose. They support the school by leading vocational training, creating sustainable income programs, and building one another up through sisterhood and service.
Together, our team models what it means to build an inclusive world from the ground up—one filled with dignity, courage, and hope. Sky Special School thrives because of these everyday heroes, whose hearts beat for the children we serve.
Teacher
Madhavi G. is a dedicated mother of two and a qualified educator with a B.Sc. and B.Ed. Her journey into special education began when her daughter was diagnosed with autism and developmental challenges, including delayed milestones and speech delays. Determined to help her daughter, Madhavi explored various therapies and treatments before discovering the value of specialized training. This inspired her to join Sky Special School two years ago to support her daughter and other children with similar needs.
At the school, she has embraced its nurturing, family-like environment and gained valuable insights into special education. Madhavi has seen remarkable progress in her daughter and continues to advocate for holistic approaches, including physiotherapy and Ayurveda, to support children’s overall development and well-being.
Consultant Physiotherapist
Dr. Sarika's passion for physiotherapy stems from a lifelong curiosity about science and the natural world. From a young age, she was fascinated by how nature could be utilized for healing and well-being. Driven by a desire to explore non-invasive approaches to treatment, she discovered physiotherapy—a profession that aligns perfectly with her belief in healing through hands-on care rather than medication.
With a Master’s degree in Neuro-Physiotherapy and a deep commitment to her craft, Dr. Sarika brings expertise, compassion, and innovation to her role. She is dedicated to helping each child at Sky Special School achieve their potential by addressing their unique physical challenges. Her goal is not only to provide effective therapy but also to instill hope and confidence in the children and families she serves.
Physical Teaching Assistant
Kalakrishna Endrapalli is an enthusiastic and dedicated assistant at Sky Special School. With a lifelong passion for dance, Kalakrishna has creatively integrated this love into a unique curriculum designed to engage children in physical exercise through movement and rhythm. This program not only supports the children’s physical well-being but also adds an element of fun and entertainment to their routine.
Seeing the children eagerly anticipate these sessions and witnessing their joy and progress brings Kalakrishna immense fulfillment. Through this innovative approach, Kalakrishna aims to make every session a delightful and enriching experience for the children at Sky Special School.
Kuchipudi Teacher, Sujok Therapist, and Yoga Instructor
Shaganti Vanaja has been a dedicated member of the Sky Special School team for 12 years, sharing her expertise in Kuchipudi dance, Sujok therapy, and yoga. She deeply admires the school’s mission to provide free services to children with special needs, relying solely on donations to support their work.
Vanaja finds immense fulfillment in contributing to the well-being of these children, believing that her efforts not only make a difference in their lives but also bring a sense of spiritual growth and unity. Her work reflects her commitment to spreading love, care, and holistic healing.
Volunteer
Himabindu Rajanala is the proud mother of Yesasvi Ruthvik, a child with special needs, and an active volunteer with LIGHT Organization. Her journey as a special needs parent has taught her that while life may not always be “fair,” it can still be filled with joy and hope.
Himabindu finds inspiration in the belief that hope is a powerful, enduring force that transcends challenges. She embraces this mindset in her work, striving to create a supportive and joyful environment for children with special needs and their families. Through her role, she is dedicated to spreading love and positivity, ensuring every child feels valued and cared for.
Consultant Psychologist
I began my professional journey as an intern at Sky Special School, where I gained invaluable experience working closely with parents of children with special needs. My dedication and empathetic approach helped me build strong relationships and foster trust within the community.
Currently, as a consultant counseling psychologist, I conduct monthly workshops designed to empower and support parents in addressing the unique challenges of raising children with special needs. Holding a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, I blend academic expertise with creativity and passion to deliver impactful sessions that promote growth and well-being.
My work remains a cornerstone of holistic support at Sky Special School, enriching the lives of students, parents, and staff.
Volunteer
🌺 I am Gnyaneshwer Rao, a retired central government employee. I retired three years ago after dedicating nearly 25 years of my life to working with visually challenged individuals through Vivekananda Sevica Kendra. During this time, I was fortunate to contribute to various service activities to support them.
Two years ago, I became associated with Sky Special School, where Syamala Madam and her team selflessly provide free services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. I came to know about this organization through Krishnapriya in Nagole, and it has been a privilege to be part of their noble efforts.
Once again, I found an opportunity to serve here, and I am grateful that my family members, friends, and even some of my visually challenged students have joined me wholeheartedly in contributing to these service activities.

Educator
I am K. Santa Rao, a writer, poet, playwright, and theater artist with extensive experience. I worked as a theater artist with Praja Natya Mandali for 25 years and as the editor of *Praja Shakthi* magazine for five years. I have trained over 50 street play groups at universities and institutions and collaborated with UNICEF and other NGOs as a social worker and trainer.
I am passionate about education and children's development, believing in the power of theater arts for holistic learning. In partnership with LIGHT organization and two other NGOs, I co-developed "Beyond the Classroom," along with a training module, "Maa Manchi Teacher," to train teachers, parents, and caretakers. So far, we have trained over 100 individuals, including special school teachers.
I greatly admire Sky Special School and enjoy working with its special children. The dedication and teamwork here are inspiring. We are now creating a new module for special educators and parents. LIGHT organization (Sky Special School) is truly unique in its exceptional service to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Vocational Teacher
I am J. Nirmala, a homemaker with a passion for yoga and meditation. My journey with LIGHT organization (Sky Special School) began when I attended group meditation with my special child, Ranjith, through the reference of Mrs. Nagendramani, an executive member of LIGHT.
This experience marked a turning point in my life. Alongside other mothers of special children, I learned new skills and helped cook for the children at SSS. Over time, I became a vocational teacher at the school, witnessing remarkable progress in Ranjith, which motivated me to continue.
I have been with Sky Special School since its inception in 2011 as a vocational training center for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Through the trainings I received here, I have grown significantly and am proud to contribute to the various services we provide. Today, my son lovingly says that SSS is my second home, and I feel honored to be part of this wonderful organization.
